Project: About Being a Mother

Description: About Being a Mother is a 20 months art project. Becoming a mother is a crucial and meaningful life event for every woman. I work as an artist for about 9 years, and be a mother for about 5 years. Since the date my first child was born, the role as a mother keeps shaping and changing me. Through this art project I wish to transform the abstract, subjective yet very embodied experience of being a mother into a series of physical materialized objects. Text and ceramic are the main media – I will use them to talk about my journey of past four and a half years of being a mother. During my residency at Stingerbol, I will make and record the process of creating a large circular shape of ceramic piece.
